Old School Skiing

This site is put together and posted by an old neighbor of Al's, who appreciated and enjoyed Runyan Lake himself long before knee boards, wake boards, jet skis or wet bikes.

This site contains a range of pictures that were taken from the late 60's to the early 80's.  These recently scanned photos help preserve and share the memories of the "Old School" talent that was on Runyan Lake... back in the day.

Imagine traveling behind a speedboat at over 40 mph with no skis, dropping down into the water, spinning around, then planting your feet and returning to a standing position...it was cool and ahead of the times! Click on the thumb nail pictures in the series below for larger picture.

Here are a number of pictures with Al, some friends and family members.

 Thanks for visiting!

Another "Old School" note. Many of the these photos were taken by Scott Schupbach (Al's cousin). He did a great job considering how young he was at the time and without the benefit of budget for high end equipment.

Al and family still enjoy Runyan Lake and Scott still enjoys sport photography. Please consider visiting Scott's photography website and think about Al's Trucking Sand & Gravel for the beach and any home projects you may tackle this year. Please feel free to contact "yours truly" for your own website or computer work (contact info is at the bottom of the page).
